Hey! Sorry for not posting earlier. If I remember correctly the fix was related to installing one or more network protocols which weren't included in TinyXP. Usually, on a 'full' Windows system you have a wide range of these protocols that you can install through advanced settings in the network devices control panel. Unfortunately I'm not using this particular system anymore and don't remember the exact protocol, but go google around and also check which are the default protocols on a normal system. Then you could download the protocol files and place them in their corresponding folder/s. Hope this helps and don't hesitate to ask again if you can't fix this :)

Hi, I am a big TinyXP fan.
I´m having some trouble for file sharing over a local network.
I can work on other machines shared folders, but they can´t over mine.
May be my case is similar to yours (as you say "one of the network protocols was missing").
How can i find and install those protocols that helped you?

Thanx in advance.
A.B.

Okay problem was support files ;-)
Wrong directory.
Connect to server okay. But in Game i cant enter bnet.

Ping Test in gateway editor:
Attempt to connect Gateway BLZ(hosting.xxx.com)...
Connected!
Time:45ms.

Gamestart WII TFT Says on connect:

You try to connect to invalid or illegal bnet server.

WTF ?? ^^

Hello Morphex,

I has installed 1.8.5 to your tutorial.
All folders ok but it does not work?
I have changed in conf file: Servername ="ownname"
Start with: /usr/local/sbin/bnetd
(no txt etc after ENTER only new commandline : root: /usr/local/sbin)
Now in bnet. gateway editor i filled my data:

Name: Own Name
Zone: -1
IP: my.domain.com

or: 123.123.123.123

But detect Gateway failed. No conect.

U have an idee?

trepo, thanks for pointing out that I really hadn't explained the temperature reading difference of the two programs. When I wrote this post I had a lot of trust in the realtemp readings, mainly because it was designed with the e8400 in mind and it was widely accepted by the community. I haven't done any testing myself, although I'm planning to. Ironically, since this post, realtemp 3.0 has been released and the tj max has been changed to 100 which changed the temperatures about +6C. So in the end the lm_sensors temps were "correct" :D Like I mentioned before, I'm planning on doing my own tests with an IR temperature monitor. Thank you again for the question :)

Thanks for the tip regarding conky. BUT. "When I use Windows I like to monitor temperatures with realtemp, the reason being that it gives a more accurate reading of the e8400 chip than other programs." Please tell how you know. "To monitor my linux temps I use lm-sensors, and even though the displayed temperatures are off, I get a good idea of the real deal when I subtract around 6 degrees." How do you know the lm_sensors readings are the ones that are off by +6 degrees and not the "realtemps" ones are off by -6? Did you measure the temps yourself? (i'm not assuming you didn't, i'd just like to see it mentioned if you did.)

I haven't done this on windows so I can't really walk you through step by step, but here's what I said before, more detailed.

From http://pvpgn.berlios.de/index.php?page=files download the latest pvpgn stable source, open it and look for a folder called docs.

Once in docs look for the .txt files which explain how to compile the server with either Borland or Dev-C. The instructions might look pretty complicated, but if you follow them VERY carefully everything should work.

Other than that, I can't really help you out more. Use linux :P
